Parents are often faced with the challenges of choosing the most effective discipline methods for their children. Sometimes a better approach can be to focus on modeling positive behaviors as deterrents to negative and undesirable actions of children. Modeling positive behaviors and acknowledging when those are reflected by the children are key aspects of creating positive behaviors.
One of the first things parents can do is consciously determine for themselves which actions and behaviors are those that they desire for their children to model.
