Routinely lying, skipping school, and disobeying rules in the home are symptoms of larger issues which can plague children. Parents need to focus on understanding these underlying issues and use proactive instead of reactive parenting.

An important first step for parents is to discover and acknowledge the stressors that affect children’s emotions and actions. Children undergo many changes as they develop and these changes naturally bring about feelings of anger, frustration, and even fear.
